CEMETERY IN BERDICHEV

The cemetery in Berdychiv is large, active, secured, and well-maintained by the standards of the area. On the day we visited in September, 2012, there were at least three employees engaged in maintenance work. It appeared that some renovation work was in progress with a number of stones gathered near the pre-burial house, presumably for cleaning and repair. In Berdychiv we found some of the more ornate and interesting of the “boot” tombstones.
