1) BERDICHEV, Ukraine – The Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva of Berdichev opened a practical training course of Sofrut – the art of writing Jewish scripts in Torah scrolls, Megilat Esthe scrolls, tefillins and mezuzas.

According to the Chief Rabbi of Berdichev, Moshe Taler, this new course is designed to increase the number of rabbinical students who study in the yeshiva, as well as to allow the students to acquire new skills, which will help the students find employment in the future.

The Jewish Community of Berdichev also operates a Jewish kindergarten, a day school and various clubs.
