HISTORICAL ANTECEDENTS FROM BERDICHEV

Alexander Tzederbaum (known as Erez), a Polish journalist, editor of the Hebrew newspaper “Hamelitz” visited Berdichev in order to make a report about the town. In 1870 he published in Warsaw the result of his work, entitled “Die Giheimnise fun Berdichev” (The mysterious of Berdichev). It is written in Yiddish and comprises a treasure of valuable material on the town (The Jewish Theological Seminary of America has a copy).
